How to Toast the Marshmallows

The secret to that irresistible toasted flavor is actually toasting the marshmallows. You can do this one of two ways:

1. Under the broiler:

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Spread the marshmallows in an even layer.
  • Place under the broiler for about 30–45 seconds until golden and slightly charred. Watch them closely as they go from perfect to burnt SUPER fast.

2. With a kitchen torch:

  • Place the marshmallows on a heatproof surface.
  • Torch until golden brown, turning to toast all sides.

Both methods will infuse your syrup with that toasty flavor. I personally just pop them in the oven under the broiler myself.
